Trading Assistant - Shift

Trading Assistant – Sainsbury’s Stores

About the Role

Our stores are dynamic, local hubs delivering outstanding value, quality, and service. As a Trading Assistant, you’ll contribute to maintaining exceptional standards, ensuring shelves are well-stocked, and enhancing the customer shopping experience.


Key Responsibilities

  • Stock management: Collect heavy stock (up to 15KG) from the warehouse using roll cages and replenish shelves across the store
  • Customer service: Serve customers proactively, answer questions, and offer assistance whenever needed in an open store
  • Product care: Check dates on fresh produce and grocery items
  • Versatility: Assist ubiquitously across the store (including deliveries) based on real-time needs
  • Knowledge sharing: Build expertise in products, promotions, and services to provide helpful recommendations

Working Hours & Conditions

Shift Timeline

  • Eligibility: Minimum age 18 for this entry-level role (dependent on overnight labour restrictions and goods handling)
  • Relocation: Confirmed UK Right to Work is mandatory
