Trading Assistant
Working at Sainsbury’s – Trading Assistant Role

As a Trading Assistant, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring our stores are always set up brilliantly—for our customers and for yourself.
Eligibility
To apply for this role, you must meet the following criteria:
- Be above your country’s school-leaving age
- Have Right to Work eligibility in the UK
- If shifts include hours earlier than 6:00 AM or later than 11:00 PM, you must be at least 18 years old (School leaving age – GOV.UK)
Responsibilities
As a Trading Assistant, you’ll be involved in key tasks to ensure our stores keep running smoothly:

Stock management:
- Collecting stock from the warehouse using heavy roll cages (up to 15KG) to replenish shelves
- Keeping stock tidy, full, and well-presented

Customer service:
- Assisting customers with questions and proactively offering help
- Learning about our products, services, and promotions to support shoppers

- Checking the dating of fresh produce and grocery items

- Assisting across the store as needed, including handling deliveries
