From a Bradford market stall to the UK’s fifth largest supermarket, we are proud to be the Yorkshire food retailer serving customers across the UK over almost 500 stores and an online home delivery service.
Our business is mainly food & grocery, and uniquely, we source & process most of the fresh food that we sell through our own manufacturing facilities.
About the Role
We’re recruiting for a high-performing Trading Manager to help our business continue to grow and succeed.
Ensuring our stores are fully stocked is key to a fantastic customer experience, making this role vital to our success. Your responsibilities include:
- Provision of the best availability and legal safety standards for customers across all departments
- Team leadership to deliver the very best shopping experience for every customer
- Planning and organising promotions or in-store events
- Listening to and responding effectively to customer feedback
- Maintaining market-leading availability and efficient operations
Reporting into the Store Manager, you will also:
- Lead the team to the highest standard while ensuring exceptional customer service
- Coordinate departmental scheduling, absence management, and performance and talent discussions
- Deliver staff training to ensure confidence and capability
- Motivate and guide colleagues across multiple departments
- Develop talent and nurture strong relationships across all management areas
- Lead colleagues to meet performance targets
- Take responsibility for resource planning and strategic decision-making

You’ll drive store success by:
- Ensuring full stock availability while maintaining legal safety standards
- Conducting and keeping up with customer feedback to refine operations
- Coordinating promotions and in-store events
- Leading the team to boost customer satisfaction
- Ensuring operational efficiency by managing staff schedules and performance
