A leading Scottish retail and wholesale brand is seeking a dynamic Trading Manager to take ownership of key product categories, drive profitable sales growth, and ensure that when it comes to the Scottish market, the business remains ahead of the competition.
This is a high-impact commercial role perfect for a data-driven professional with a talent for negotiation and a passion for fast-paced retail environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Overseeing category strategy, analysing sales trends via Power BI, and delivering on profit margin targets.
- Developing annual promotional calendars, managing competitive pricing, and collaborating with marketing teams to boost footfall.
- Partnering with supply chain teams to maximise product availability whilst ruthlessly minimising waste.
- Building strong relationships with suppliers, securing top-tier Joint Business Plans (JBPs), and negotiating local trading terms.
- Working closely with Store Operations and Sales teams to launch exciting new products and monitor competitor activity.

What the Ideal Candidate Looks Like:
- A minimum of 3 years within retail buying, wholesale, or a fast-paced commercial trading role.
- Strong negotiation and analytical capabilities. Exceptional numeracy and advanced Excel skills are essential.
- Energetic, resilient, and able to thrive under pressure. A natural relationship-builder who can confidently influence stakeholders at all levels.
