Trading Originator

Commercially-Driven Trading Originator

About the Role

Brook Green Supply (part of the CFP Energy Group) is an independent B2B energy supplier, specialising in providing bespoke supply solutions to industrial and commercial consumers. By focusing solely on large energy consumers, the business delivers a high degree of expertise and tailoring.

We’re seeking an entrepreneurial, commercially-driven Trading Originator to help expand our UK power, gas, and environmental product activity.

This fast-paced, relationship-focused role demands someone passionate about:

  • Identifying and executing profitable market opportunities in wholesale and customer-facing energy trading
  • Building strong commercial relationships with stakeholders (suppliers, traders, brokers, generators, aggregators, and corporate clients)
  • Finding creative, unconventional solutions and driving deals to conclusion

The ideal candidate must thrive in a dynamic environment, be curious about energy markets, and enjoy proactively developing new business in a trading context.

Key Responsibilities

Market & Opportunity Development

  • Identify, originate, and execute profitable opportunities across UK power, gas, and environmental markets
  • Discover non-standard, overlooked opportunities in both physical and environmental markets
  • Stay ahead of market trends, pricing changes, policy shifts, and regulatory developments

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
