Location & Commitment

General working hours: 40–48 hours per week

Due to industry demand, you may occasionally be required to:

  • Work Evenings, nights, and weekends
  • Work away during peak seasons
  • Be on-call (particularly if you qualify for a company van)

Your Role

As a 12d Traffic Management Operative, your responsibilities include:

  • Conducting Traffic Counts
    • Collect essential data and liaise with clients/subcontractors
  • Maintaining Temporary Traffic Lights
    • Ensure safe and uninterrupted traffic flow
  • Deploying Traffic Management Solutions
    • Install, maintain, and remove:
      • Cones
      • Signs
      • Frames
      • Sandbags
      • Other related equipment
  • Mentoring Trainees
    • Share expertise with new team members

Requirements

Essential Criteria

  • Qualifications:
    • M1/M2 certification (SLG Unit 2 considered)
  • Regulatory Knowledge:
    • Familiarity with Chapter 8 regulations
  • Licence & Record:
    • Full driving licence with ≤6 points; driving bans expired ≥5 years
  • Testing & Screening:
    • Must pass drug/alcohol test (employment contingent)
  • Attitude/Skills:
    • Positive ‘can-do’ mindset
    • Adaptability, flexibility, and meticulous attention to detail
  • Availability:
    • Willing to work weekends, nights, and vice versa (when necessary)

Additional Notes

  • Training Agreement: Subject to signing a training contract
  • Refer a Friend: Earn £750 per qualified 12ab Operative referral
