We’re looking for an experienced Traffic Management Supervisor to join our team.
It is essential that applicants have previous traffic management experience, with a minimum of 12 months supervisory experience and relevant qualifications. A full UK driving licence is required as the role includes driving one of our commercial vehicles. Due to the nature of our industry, the role requires flexibility on work patterns, and you will be required to work a combination of days, nights and weekend shifts.
The role will include supporting contracts in the North West of England and adjoining regions as required.

Requirements
- Previous traffic management supervisory experience (minimum 12 months)
- Relevant traffic management qualifications and accreditations (e.g. TM qualifications, Streetworks where applicable)
- Full UK driving licence (WITH 6 POINTS OR LESS). Driver checks will be completed
- CSCS card or proof of application for one (required for some site activities)
- Ability to lead a small team and manage resources on site
- Strong understanding of health & safety, method statements and risk assessments
- Comfortable working on live carriageway and managing site safety and traffic management plans
- Flexible to work varying shifts, including nights and weekends

Licence/Certifications desirable
- CSCS Green card minimum
- Streetworks operative or supervisor certification (desirable)
- SMSTS or SSSTS (desirable)
- Relevant surveying or inspection training (e.g. HAUC, highways inspection courses) (desirable)
- Traffic management or banksman accreditation (desirable)
Key responsibilities
- Supervise traffic management teams to ensure safe, compliant and timely delivery of works
- Plan and set up temporary traffic management arrangements in line with schemes and risk assessments
- Monitor on-site safety, compliance with method statements and use of PPE
- Liaise with clients, contractors and site operatives to coordinate works and resolve issues
- Complete pre-start checks, daily records, permit documentation and handover paperwork
- Carry out quality checks and report defects or non-compliance promptly
- Provide coaching, support and development to team members
- Drive company vehicles as required and ensure vehicle checks and records are maintained
Person specification
- Proven supervisory experience within traffic management or highways operations
- Calm, organised and proactive approach with strong attention to detail
- Good communication and relationship-building skills with clients and colleagues
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities across multiple sites
- Competent with mobile data capture, basic digital systems and paperwork
- Reliable, professional and committed to high standards of health & safety
- Flexible to work varying shifts and travel across the North West and neighbouring regions
