We are a 7-day per week facility that offers guided horseback trail rides to the public, private and group lessons, and pasture boarding services.

Candidates must be at least 18 years old. In addition to meeting the requirements listed in the job description below, a confident, competent riding skill level is necessary; riding style or discipline does not matter.

Further, candidates must possess leadership qualities and skills equivalent to the position and services offered.

Starting rate is between $13.00-$16.00/hr. Raises and advancements available based on performance.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

To provide exceptional customer service at all times, while assisting the Barn Manager with a wide range of tasks and assignments, including but not limited to equine health and well-being, farm maintenance, the smooth operation of public trail rides, and ensuring safe and quality interpretive experiences. The Lead Wrangler is able to pleasantly manage a flexible and ever-changing list of duties and responsibilities while upholding the P3 philosophy.

  • Fulfill the Job Description of a Trail Guide.
  • Ensure proper opening and closing procedures.
  • Set a clear standard for the Wrangler staff through exemplary performance and attitude.
  • Direct the daily operation of the Hitching Post.
  • Ensure consistency and accuracy of the daily operations according to the standard timeline.
  • Maintain good working relationships.
  • Direct and coach Groom, Drag, and Lead trainees.
  • Coordinate with managers on goals, priorities, team needs, and achievements.
  • Assist with equine nutrition and feed schedule by observing and collaborating on equine body condition and performance, make adjustments to feed and care schedules, and preparing feed orders.
  • Participate in the overall care routine by observing the physical and mental health of each horse and making adjustments to care, grooming (Groom Horse Assignments), and work routines.
  • Maintain records in the care and notes logs.
  • Maintain horse work logs, and important notes section.
  • Make recommendations and be the ‘voice’ of the wranglers.
  • Participate in the Safety Committee.
  • Participate in planning and execution of all Equine-related events.
  • Assist with and/or coordinate facility maintenance and fence repair.
  • Assist with and/or coordinate mowing and weed control.

About Us

The P3 team is looking for a friendly, responsible, energetic person who loves to play outdoors and wants to share that love with other people! P3 Lake Louisa LLC is the official concessionaire for Lake Louisa State Park. Our guides lead groups of all skill levels on daytime tours, half-day excursions, and once a month moonlight paddles. Applicants must have a deep fondness for the outdoors, familiarity with natural Florida flora and fauna, and have a passion for sharing these wonderful features of Florida with our visitors. A very social and outgoing personality is required.

We operate within a state park. The highest standards of professionalism and public interactions are required. The position is part-time.

We are looking for on-call guides to assist with large tours, as well as solo guides able to lead tours alone.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepping equipment prior to tours.
  • Making minor repairs and maintenance to equipment as needed.
  • Learning and consistently executing welcome scripts, safety briefings, and general customer service functions.
  • Learning and sharing interpretive scripts with enthusiasm.
  • Leading daytime tours, moonlight paddles, and half-day excursions.
  • Cleaning and storing equipment.
  • Utilizing an app-based booking and reservations system.
  • Maintaining safety procedures, and executing the safety management processes.
  • Maintain a professional and polished guide appearance.

Physical Requirements

  • Overall good physical fitness.
  • Solid upper body strength.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds to chest height.
  • Ability to move a 75-pound vessel from rack to ground, and ground to water's edge.
  • Ability to team lift 100 pounds to chest height.
  • Ability to team lift 75 pounds overhead.
  • Ability to sit in a kayak for an extended period of time.
  • Ability to stand or walk for an extended period of time without sitting breaks.
  • Strong swimming skills, and treading water skills.
  • Confident paddling skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and efficiently with a group.
  • Ability to learn in-water kayak recovery and stabilization techniques.
  • Own and be willing to use a personal smartphone to access our reservation system.

  • CPR/First Aid certification.

Pay

Pay is $12-$16 hourly depending on experience. This is a tipped position.
