Accounting Services Support Specialist – Private Equity

About the Role

In this exciting opportunity, you will support the Centre of Excellence service and deliver accounting services to other Gen II offices, providing taxation, bookkeeping, and accounting support to Private Equity team clients, aligned with defined business activities. All tasks must be executed efficiently and effectively, adhering to Gen II’s requirements and procedures.


Responsibilities

Your role will include the following Defined Business Activities, among others (this list may evolve over time):

  • Managing a portfolio of clients and ensuring their financial needs are met.
  • Performing regular banking platform reconciliations, escalating anomalies as required.
  • Completing monthly and quarterly management accounts.
  • Updating bookkeeping and executing regular Net Asset Value (NAV) calculations, including:
    • Valuation of investments.
    • Recording of income and expenses.
  • Preparing annual accounts.
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and submitting regulatory filings.
  • Assisting wider Operations teams, particularly during high-volume periods.
  • Producing tax computations.
  • Preparing VAT Returns or conducting VAT Reverse Charge calculations.
  • Communicating with clients and stakeholders to provide financial insights and address inquiries.
  • Monitoring service delivery efficiency to each client while supporting profitability through:
    • Ensuring timely and accurate completion of work.
    • Direct responsibility for maintaining and optimising financial support for clients.

Requirements

Qualifications *(Desirable: marked with *)

  • Be studing towards an appropriate accounting qualification*.
  • ACCA/ACA professional-level certification.

Experience *(Desirable: marked with *)

  • Direct experience creating Management accounts and financial statements*.
  • Background in Real Estate or Private Equity fund accounting*.
  • Familiarity with software including Caseware, Investran, BOB 50, or Yardi*.
  • Hands-on experience maintaining accounting records and compiling financial statements to IFRS (or other applicable standards) for various entities*.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong understanding of the finance industry, local legislation, and regulatory frameworks*.
  • Proficient in IFRS or equivalent accounting standards*.
  • Fluent in written and verbal English, with ability to:
    • Draft concise emails.
    • Take accurate meeting notes.
    • Assist with document preparation.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Proactive with a strong problem-solving mindset and analytical skills.

Role Details

  • Location: Office-based in Southampton (training and team collaboration necessitate presence).
  • Schedule: Predominantly office-based due to role demands; limited potential for flexible/hybrid arrangements (varies by business needs, workspace availability, and personal circumstances).
