**Bus Driver Apprentice Training Scheme – Passenger Transport Driver (Bus, Coach & Tram – Level 2)

New Pay Rates (Starting from Year 1)

  • Basic rate: ÂŁ15.94 – ÂŁ17.28 per hour (depending on location)
  • Overtime rate: ÂŁ16.63 – ÂŁ24.74 per hour
  • Annual increases after the first year

About the Role

Our Passenger Transport Driver – Level 2 Apprenticeship scheme gives you the opportunity to train as a bus driver while earning a salary. Over 53 weeks, you’ll build your skills, gain your PCV licence (Category D), and receive structured training for a qualification equivalent to five GCSEs.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Safely transport passengers across London, adhering to all regulations
  • Deliver excellent customer service and assist withfare queries
  • Make clear announcements via the onboard PA system
  • Perform full vehicle pre-shift checks to ensure safety
  • Operate on time, maintaining strict schedules and fellow traveler safety
  • Uphold professional conduct at all times

What You’ll Need

✔ UK Car licence (held for at least 6 months with no convictions) ✔ Fewer than 6 penalty points (contact us first if you have a drink/drive conviction) ✔ Ability to pass a DVLA medical for bus licence eligibility ✔ ✔ Strong maths, English, and communication skills ✔ Right to live and work in the UK ⚠️ Cannot hold a tachograph card (you must surrender yours before employment)

(Before offering a conditional role, we will require you to surrender your tachograph card.)
