About the Role
Position Summary
The Trainee Assembly Operative, under direct supervision, performs routine production tasks and operates specific production machinery. Ensures the maintenance of a safe work environment with an ultimate goal of zero accidents.

Responsibilities
- Perform routine production tasks, such as:
- Operating subassembly equipment
- Using coating equipment
- Operating ovens and material handling equipment, including hoists, cranes, tow motors, pallet trucks, and miscellaneous equipment
- Complete troubleshooting while operating equipment, including performing and documenting limited preventative maintenance.
- Monitor, measure, and record:
- Quality assurance data (e.g., dimensions, weight, or other specific information)
- Observe safe work practices, maintain a safe and clean work environment, and wear the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Track orders, using appropriate equipment, to move materials efficiently and support the production process.
- Comprehend and accurately follow detailed operational instructions and prints for job and setup operations.
- Follow specific quality criteria to maintain quality system requirements.
- Conduct some manual handling.
- Perform other job-related tasks as assigned.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Education: A Secondary Certificate/High School Diploma or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience.
- Certifications: Vocational training, apprenticeships, or equivalent experience in a related field.
- Experience: 0–2 years in a relevant field.
- Skills & Abilities:
- Skilled in the use of hand tools (e.g., callipers, depth gages, micrometres) and machinery.
- Ability to read various instructions.
- Confident problem-solver using existing procedures for performing straightforward tasks.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance required.
