Trainee Bus Driver
Trainee Bus Driver (Including Apprenticeship Qualification)
Location Oldham, Greater Manchester 📍 Oldham Depot, Wallshaw Street, Oldham OL1 3TR
Contract Type Full-time – permanent
Salary Structure
- £19.06 per hour with a valid PCV licence or after 9 months of service
- £16.02 per hour post-training (Monday to Friday)
- £18.41 per hour (Saturday & Sunday)
- £13.50/£14.30 per hour during training (Note: salary during training corrected to £14.30 per hour)
About the Role
Earn while you learn – Stagecoach provides fully paid training, covering the cost of your PCV licence and supporting you through the Level 2 Bus Driver Apprenticeship alongside earning a wage.

Key Responsibilities
- Complete paid industry-leading training, earning a PCV licence and securing CPC qualifications alongside a Level 2 Apprenticeship.
- Drive the fleet safely, smoothly, and confidently adhering to operational standards.
- Ensure exceptional passenger experiences—welcoming, attentive, and safe interactions with all customers.
- Deliver outstanding customer service to people of every age and background, prioritising those dependent on public transport.
- Adhere to shift patterns of 5 days on, 2 days off, covering early mornings, evenings, and weekends flexibly.

Requirements
You should:
- Be 18+ years old with a UK driving licence.
- Hold no more than 6 penalty points on your license.
- Have the right to work in the UK (validated by DVLA requirements).
- Show potential for:
- Patient, safe, and courteous driving.
- A brillantly friendly, positive attitude to deliver exceptional customer service.
- An eagerness to learn and collaborate as part of a team.
- Pass a simple recruitment process: a short application followed by a practical/situational behaviour-based interview.
