Industrial Engineering – Process & Plant Optimisation Trainee (Four Ashes, West Midlands)
About the Organisation Gestamp is a Spanish-owned multinational organisation dedicated to maintaining market leadership in its field.
About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the Industrial Engineering department at Gestamp’s West Midlands plant in Four Ashes, near Wolverhampton.
The Improvement-focused Industrial Engineering team supports operational manufacturing and internal logistics through:
- Work study
- Capacity planning
- Process & plant layout techniques
- Optimisation of manufacturing processes by identifying or addressing process inefficiencies

Responsibilities
As an optimisation specialist in this trainee role, you will:
- Maintain plant’s production data collection systems
- Deliver clear, high-level reporting to senior management
- Identify and lead various improvement projects (large or small)
- Implement data-driven solutions to enhance plant efficiency
Criteria & Skills Required
Qualifications & Experience
- Technical background (preferably an engineering qualification) or relevant experience in data analysis
- Bias towards systems optimisation rather than traditional engineering
- Trainee-driven approach with a readiness to learn and grow in a collaborative environment
