Trainee Dental Nurse
Job Title: Trainee Dental Nurse
Location: St Albans, Hertfordshire AL1
Salary: Starting from GBP13.40 per hour
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Operating Hours: Working days will be agreed in line with practice requirements.
- Monday: 9:00am - 5:00pm
- Tuesday to Thursday: 8:00am - 5:00pm
- Friday: 9:00am - 5:00pm

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Trainee Dental Nurse to join our friendly private dental practice in the heart of St Albans. This is an exciting opportunity to gain practical experience while working towards a recognised Dental Nursing qualification in a supportive and forward-thinking clinical environment.
You will work alongside experienced clinicians and become involved in a wide variety of treatments, developing valuable clinical skills while building the foundations of a rewarding long-term career.

The practice offers a broad range of treatments including smile makeovers, veneers, composite bonding, Invisalign, dental implants, crowns, bridges, dentures, root canal treatment, hygiene therapy, gum care, teeth whitening and general dentistry.

Using the latest digital technology, including CBCT 3D imaging, digital intra-oral scanners and CAD/CAM restorative systems, you'll gain exposure to innovative treatment planning and modern clinical workflows rarely available within an entry-level role.
Responsibilities
As a Trainee Dental Nurse, you'll support the clinical team by:
- Assisting dentists during a wide variety of dental procedures
- Preparing surgeries and equipment before patient appointments
- Cleaning, sterilising and maintaining dental instruments
- Supporting patients throughout their appointments and helping create a positive experience
- Maintaining accurate clinical records and patient documentation
- Following infection prevention, decontamination and health and safety procedures
- Assisting with digital workflows, including scanning and treatment planning where appropriate
- Working closely with the wider practice team to ensure clinics run efficiently
What We're Looking For
- Passionate about pursuing a career in Dental Nursing
- Friendly, professional and eager to learn
- Reliable with excellent organisational skills
- Confident communicating with patients and colleagues
- Comfortable using basic computer systems
- Enrolled on, or intending to enrol on, an approved Dental Nursing qualification
- Eligible to work in the UK
- Vaccinated against Hepatitis B, or willing to complete the required immunisation programme
- In possession of a National Insurance number

The practice is centrally located on St Peters Street in St Albans, within easy walking distance of St Albans City railway station and well served by local bus routes. Public parking is also available nearby.
