Trainee Dispenser – Pharmacy Team Role (London Stores)
The hourly rate for this role is £13.12–£15.10 within selected locations across London.
No prior experience is required—full training will be provided through an NVQ Level 2 programme to support your career development.
About the Role
As a Trainee Dispenser, you’ll be a valued member of the pharmacy team, working alongside pharmacists and healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality care and support. Your key focus will be:
- Assisting in safe, efficient prescription dispensing, including:
- Ordering, labelling, and supplying medicines
- Endorsing, dispensing, and collecting prescriptions
- Ensuring medicines are stored, handled, and disposed of legally
- Building trusting relationships with patients by:
- Greeting and directing customers
- Providing person-centred medicine advice
- Referring specialist queries to the pharmacist where required
This role is store-based in the UK only. We cannot process applications from candidates without a valid UK right to work unless UK qualifications and legal eligibility can be confirmed.
Key Responsibilities
Training & Certification
- Complete the Pharmacy Advisor NVQ Level 2 programme.
Essential Tasks
- Prescription handling: Ordering, dispensing, labelling, and safely managing medicine supply chains.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to operate and enhance pharmacy services.
- Provide emedical information, advice, and support to patients, ad Justifying vice empathy and clear communication.
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure legal compliance and patient safety.
- Keep up-to-date with new innovations, policies, and operational updates.
- Enhance patient compliance by offering guidance on prescription management, repeat ordering, and proper medication usage.

What You’ll Bring
Essential Qualifications
- Desire to learn and complete the NVQ Level 2 Dispenser training.
- Valid and unrestricted UK right to work (this role does not offer sponsorship for a Skilled Worker Visa).
Nice-to-Have (Beneficial Qualifications)
- Prior experience in a community pharmacy or retail healthcare environment.
