Trainee Dispenser

Trainee Dispenser – Pharmacy Team Role

Hourly Pay: £13.12–£15.10 (London) Location: Exclusive to London (in-store role only) Entry Required: No prior experience. Full training provided via NVQ2 Dispenser programme.


About The Role

As a Trainee Dispenser serving on our pharmacy team, you’ll support pharmacists and healthcare professionals in safely and efficiently delivering patient care.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Building trustful relationships with patients through active listening and understanding their healthcare needs.
  • Assisting with prescription dispensing, including:
    • Ordering and labelling medicines.
    • Safely issuing and endorsing prescriptions.
    • Managing patient collections.
  • Ensuring medicines are distributed legally while following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Offering healthcare advice to help patients make informed decisions, with escalation supports for complex queries.
  • Supporting activities surrounding medications (e.g., scheduled medication refills, adherence support).
  • Staying updated on pharmacy innovations and optimising store processes.

Key Responsibilities

✔ Complete NVQ2 Pharmacy Advisor training. ✔ Adhere to safe medicines dispensing practices (labeling, logging, collection). ✔ Collaborate with healthcare team members to enhance pharmacy delivery. ✔ Provide consultancy on medicines and safely refer to pharmacists when necessary. ✔ Monitor regulatory changes and operational processes. ✔ Implement smart dispensing systems to boost patient safety and efficiency.

Key Role: Helping patients manage their repeat prescriptions and maximise their health outcomes.


Requirements

Essential

  • UK right to work (no sponsorship available).
  • Eagerness to undertake NVQ2 training.

Desirable

  • Previous community pharmacy experience.
