Trainee Fitter/Fabricator
Have you recently completed your Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering course? Ready to kickstart your career? If so, we want to hear from you!
We are looking for a full time, permanent Trainee Fitter Fabricator to join our team.
From our facility in Hastings, we work on applications and manufacture bespoke systems for exciting global projects such as space launches, 5G technology, O-led TV’s, flexible solar panels to name just a few.
As a KJLC Trainee, you will undergo training to become a qualified engineer through a UK-recognised programme. We will also enroll and support you in obtaining a Higher National Certificate/Diploma in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering. This position combines full-time employment with college attendance.

Key Job Elements:
Ability to layout, position, and secure parts and assemblies to meet drawing requirements, using straight edges, squares, angle plates, blocks, clamps, and pointers Fit and tack tubes and fittings for vacuum chambers in various positions Read and understand technical prints; including weld symbols Thorough understanding of measuring tools such as calipers, rules, feeler gauges, and pi tapes Multi-task within a Manufacturing Cell
A standard working week is 40 hours, Monday – Thursday (8am – 5pm) with an early finish Friday.
Qualifications:
Required
A-Level/T-Level Mechanical Engineering/Manufacturing - Level 3 GCSE’s or equivalent Solid understanding of mathematics and the ability to read mechanical drawings
