Role: Trainee Gardener

Location: Alderley Edge & Knutsford

Working Hours: Mon-Fri, 8:30am till 5pm. 40 hours per week


We’re on the lookout for a Trainee Gardener to join our team in Alderley Edge & Knutsford.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Workshop Operative

  • To work with the existing gardener in beautifully established gardens/grounds
  • Assist with mowing lawns, strimming, edging, and hedge cutting.
  • Maintain gardens to a high standard of cleanliness and presentation.
  • Support seasonal tasks such as leaf clearance, pruning, and planting.
  • Work effectively as part of a team while developing horticultural knowledge and skills.

What You’ll Bring

We’re not expecting you to know everything from day one—full training is provided. That said, it would be great if you:

  • Have some experience with manual handling activities
  • Are reliable and take pride in your work
  • Have a positive attitude and enjoy being part of a team
  • Are keen to learn and get stuck in as a workshop operative
  • Have basic numeracy, literacy, and communication skills
  • Own transport
