About the Role

Do you have at least 2 years experience working in mental health and have great interpersonal skills that you want to develop while becoming a therapist?

In partnership with the Canterbury Christ Church University, we are looking to recruit up to 7 Trainee High Intensity CBT Therapists on a fixed term basis to join WithYou’s Kent NHS Talking Therapies. WithYou is a leading national charity providing evidence based support for mental health, substance use, and family services across the UK.

The role is based at our Kent NHS Talking Therapies service and we will train practitioners to deliver evidence based psychological therapy on a one year full-time Postgraduate Diploma in Psychological Intervention (CBT) at the Canterbury Christ Church University, starting in January 2027.

The closing date for these roles is 19th July 2026, however we would encourage you to apply as soon as you can, as we may have to close earlier than this date if we receive a sufficient number of applications.

Job Opportunity

We are proud to offer a high quality Continuing Professional Development (CPD) offer, weekly 1-2-1 supervision, group supervision and reflective practice. You will be part of a supportive team of highly experienced practitioners and leaders, who are passionate about making a difference to people's lives.

In addition, this exciting opportunity includes an NHS funded Postgraduate Diploma course which will give you the skills to assess and deliver NICE recommended CBT interventions in community settings, for people suffering with symptoms of anxiety and depression. For more information, see the linked candidate pack and job description.

Interviews will be held virtually in mid August 2026 (dates will be confirmed with candidates as soon as possible). Successful candidates will need to start employment early January 2027 subject to satisfactory checks.

Should you be successful in your application, you will be required to provide 3 years' worth of references and will need to undergo an enhanced DBS check.

These posts are fixed-term for 12 months however there may be opportunities for continued employment at the end of the contract, subject to service need and qualification status. The position will be hybrid and you will have the opportunity to work from home but you must be able to physically attend Canterbury Christ Church University in person throughout the course; this will usually be a Monday and Tuesday. There may be additional days that you will need to attend in person but notice will be given as far in advance as possible. We also require you to attend a weekly in-person clinic, this will be decided by your line manager depending on service needs and your location.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
