The Opportunity
Are you looking to launch a hands-on career in traffic technology? SWARCO is expanding its team in St Albans and is searching for Trainee Traffic Signals Installers to join one of the UK’s leading intelligent transport solutions providers.
As part of our team, you will:
- Learn from expert professionals while contributing to projects that improve road safety and efficiency.
- Gain industry-recognised training while working on real-world installations of traffic signals, pedestrian crossings, and intelligent transport systems.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Assisting with the installation and commissioning of traffic signals and urban traffic technology.
- Learning safe, timely, and high-quality delivery of projects.
- Supporting experienced engineers and installers on customer sites.
- Developing practical electrical and installation skills through on-the-job training.
- Adhering to health, safety, and quality procedures at all times.
- Ensuring projects are completed professionally and efficiently.
- Representing SWARCO professionally on site.

Profile: What We’re Looking for
We’re seeking an eager learner who shares our passion for practical work and commitment to excellence.
Ideal candidates will have:
- An interest in electrical, construction, or engineering.
- Strong practical and problem-solving skills.
- A positive attitude and willingness to grow.
- The ability to work independently and in a team.
- A detail-oriented, safety-conscious approach.
- A full UK driving licence (or full access to obtain one).
- Preferable (but not essential) previous experience in construction, utilities, electrical work, or hands-on environments.
