The Vacancy

Trainee Lecturer - Motor Vehicle

Salary: Up to £29,551, depending on experience, with progression on to the main teaching scale, up to £41,937

Hours: 35 per week

Working Weeks: 52 per year

Contract Type: Permanent

Site: Accrington & Rossendale College

The Exciting Role

A new and exciting opportunity has become available for a Trainee Lecturer in Motor Vehicle to join our student-focused team.

This role is ideal for someone with a strong background or passion for Motor Vehicle who is looking to take the next step into teaching. As a Trainee Lecturer, you'll be supported to develop your teaching skills while sharing your industry knowledge and inspiring the next generation of automotive professionals.

You'll work in well-equipped workshops alongside an experienced and supportive team, helping learners develop practical skills, build confidence and achieve industry-recognised qualifications. Full training and development will be provided, including support to work towards a teaching qualification.

The successful candidate will be primarily based at Accrington & Rossendale College but may be required to travel across sites.

The College's Trainee Teacher programme will include funding for your teaching qualification, as well as mentoring support and coaching from our experienced team. What You Will Be Doing:

  • Support the delivery and development of the Motor Vehicle curriculum, working alongside experienced Lecturers to help build employer relationships and support opportunities such as industry placements.
  • Assist in teaching across Motor Vehicle programmes from Entry Level to Level 3, developing your teaching practice with the support of the team.
  • Work with your Line Manager and colleagues to plan and prepare engaging, high-quality learning activities.
  • Contribute to the development and sharing of learning resources for Motor Vehicle, while building effective links across the College.
  • Support the assessment of students and help track and monitor learner progress.

What We Are Looking For:

  • 5 GCSEs or equivalent including Maths and English at Grade C/4 or above
  • Minimum level 3 qualification in a related subject
  • Willingness to achieve a recognised teaching qualification
