Trainee Lifeguard – Leisure Solutions Community Trust
Location
Leys, Ferry, Barton, and Hinksey Leisure Centres – full time and part-time roles available.
Working early/late shifts, including weekends.
Salary: £14.06 per hour + excellent benefits

Key Responsibilities
If you’re eager to attend an upcoming Lifeguard Qualification Course (3rd – 7th August, Leys Leisure Centre, 9am–6pm daily—100% attendance required), apply today!
As a Trainee Lifeguard, you’ll be responsible for ensuring pool safety, assisting with customer care, and supervising activities. Your role involves:
- Pool surveillance and prevention of accidents
- Assisting customers of all ages, ranging from children to seniors
- Maintaining pool cleanliness and standards in the swim area
- Supervising, setting up, and handling pool equipment safely
- Responding in emergencies—quick and decisive action may save lives

Requirements
Experience & Skills
- Proven customer service skills, whether from a leisure setting or any customer-facing role
- Ability to interact professionally with people of all ages and backgrounds
- A calm yet vigilant attitude under pressure
- Team-player mindset—collaboration is key!
No prior lifeguarding experience required, but you must meet the minimum swim test criteria:
✅ Jump/Dive into deep water ✅ Swim 50m in under 60 seconds (approx. 2 pool lengths) ✅ Swim 100m continuously (front and back) in deep water (8 pool lengths) ✅ Tread water for 30 seconds ✅ Surface dive to the pool floor (water depth no deeper than 2.0m) ✅ Climb out unaided without steps/ladders (depending on pool design)
