Trainee Management Accountant – £25,000 - £30,000 dependant on experience – Deeside, CH5 2NS
Are you highly organised, numerate and keen to build a career in finance? Do you enjoy working with data, spotting detail and turning numbers into useful insight?
The role
MMP UK is looking for a Trainee Management Accountant to join its Finance team.
This is a great opportunity for someone with strong analytical skills and a real interest in finance and accounting. You will support the team with accurate reporting, month-end activity, reconciliations, budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis.
You will also build the knowledge and experience needed to grow within management accounting.
Key Responsibilities
You will:
- Support monthly reporting for the Senior Management Team and Divisional Controlling
- Help develop and review financial and non-financial KPIs
- Carry out profitability analysis on products and customers
- Review production orders against pre-calculations
- Assist with monthly budget reports and variance analysis
- Investigate cost differences and recommend suitable actions
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations
- Support annual budget preparation with data and analysis
- Maintain and improve the business KPI dashboard
- Support stock-taking activity and inventory controls
- Help Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable during busy periods or absence
- Support statutory audits, internal audits, VAT preparation and other finance tasks

The person
You will need:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Good numerical ability
- A keen interest in finance and accounting
- The ability to manage deadlines and prioritise work
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- A willing, positive approach to learning
- The ability to work well alone and as part of a team
- At least 5 GCSEs, or equivalent, at Grade 4/C or above, including Maths and English
You should be confident using Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word and Outlook. Experience with ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics or SAP would be useful. An Accounting or Business degree would also be helpful.
