Trainee Maths or Science Teacher – Secondary School (Full-Time, Permanent)
Location: Sutton, South London
Salary: £29,000 (School-Based Teacher Training)

A high-achieving and Outstanding secondary school in Sutton is seeking a Trainee Maths or Science Teacher to join its school-based teacher training programme from September 2026.
This is a fantastic opportunity to train within a well-established and oversubscribed school known for its excellent academic outcomes, strong behaviour standards, and supportive leadership team. The school has a strong reputation for developing graduates into confident and successful teachers.
About the Role:
This is a paid, school-based Initial Teacher Training (ITT) position, allowing you to gain real classroom experience while earning a salary.
You will:
- Train to teach Mathematics or Science across KS3–KS5
- Work alongside experienced teachers within a high-performing department
- Gradually take on teaching responsibilities as your confidence develops
- Learn essential skills in lesson planning, behaviour management, and assessment
- Receive structured mentoring and continuous professional development
- Work towards achieving Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) within one year

Who We Are Looking For:
- A high-achieving graduate from a Russell Group or top university
- A degree in Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, or a related subject
- Strong A Levels in Maths and/or Science (Chemistry or Physics preferred)
- Excellent subject knowledge and communication skills
- A genuine passion for education and a commitment to training as a teacher
- A proactive, resilient, and professional mindset
