Trainee Mortgage Adviser

Fast Track Mortgage Adviser Academy (16-Month Commission Guarantee Included)

An outstanding opportunity to launch a long-term career in Financial Services by becoming a full-time, fully employed, CII qualified Mortgage & Protection Adviser for one of the UK’s leading mortgage providers. This role offers home-based working post-training with a 16-week intensive training programme (mix of office-based and remote learning).


Job Title: Trainee Mortgage Adviser

Training Structure

Your training will consist of office-based sessions followed by remote learning over 16 weeks, with the following structure:

  • Week 1: Full-time (4 days in office)
  • Weeks 2–5: Max 3 days in office
  • Weeks 6–10: Max 2 days in office
  • Weeks 11–16: Max 2 days over 6 weeks (remote noted below)

Enhanced Salary & Commission Structure

A basic salary plus guaranteed commission is provided during the training period and beyond:

  • First 16 weeks (Training): Guaranteed basic salary + commission to £30K per annum.

  • Months 4–6: Guaranteed basic salary + commission to £30K per annum.

  • Months 7–10: Guaranteed basic salary + commission to £32.5K per annum.

  • Months 10–16: Guaranteed basic salary + commission to £35K per annum.

  • After Month 16 (working role): £25.5K basic salary + commission-covered ACTE to surpass £45K+.

  • After 2 years: Aim for an OTE of £50K+ alongside peak commission earnings (top performers earn over £65K/year).

Contract & Location

  • Role type: Full-time, permanent, employed contract.
  • Training location: Sheffield office (office-based days mandatory).

Qualifications & Support

  • CF1 & CF6 qualifications: Full financial support, including study materials and exam costs covered.
  • Development Programme: CII mortgage and protection qualification.

Working Hours

  • Training Period (16 weeks): 9:30AM–5:00PM, Monday to Friday (5 days/week). Applicants must commit to the full 16 weeks with no planned holidays.

  • Post-Training: 8-hour days (nine shift options), with no weekend work. Flexible schedule: e.g. 9:30AM–6PM or 11:30AM–8PM.


About the Role

As a Mortgage and Protection Adviser, your focus will be on delivering high-quality sales and customer advice—supported by dedicated Adviser Support Teams responsible for client outreach and appointment scheduling.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Delivering clarity and simplicity when advising on complex financial products.
  • Meeting targets of writing 16+ mortgages with protection monthly.
  • Home or office-based role requiring professional communication and organisation skills.

Long-Term Growth:

  • Promotion paths are open—current Sales Team Managers were once internal mortgage advisers.
  • Opportunities for progression and market-leading roles within the business.

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Qualifications

  • A strong drive to build a career in Financial Services, with a preference for mortgages and protection.
  • Proven experience in customer service and sales.
  • Exceptional communication skills to simplify complex financial concepts effectively for clients.
  • Structured and highly organised mindset, with disciplined self-management.
  • Confident Microsoft Office user, with Excel, Word, and Outlook proficiency.
