Trainee Paralegal / Paralegal - Clinical Negligence - Stamford and Sleaford, Lincolnshire, UK
We have an exciting opportunity for a Trainee Paralegal or Paralegal to join our Clinical/Medical Negligence Team.
We are seeking an individual who holds a degree in Law or has equivalent relevant professional experience. Full training will be provided; however, a genuine interest and passion for clinical/medical negligence work is essential.
This role will involve supporting the team with a range of clinical negligence matters. The successful candidate will be expected to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines, while maintaining a high standard of client care. They will also be committed to delivering excellent client service and ensuring client satisfaction at all times.

9am – 5.15pm Monday to Friday

Dependent on experience
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with new enquiries in clinical negligence matters and opening new files.
- Providing an ongoing service to existing clients.
- Managing applications for medical records.
- Managing expert appointments and conferences with counsel.
- Assisting with the preparation of electronic bundles for experts, counsel, and court hearings.
- Working with the three fee earners in the Department to develop new business.
- Develop and enhance the Department, maximising cross referrals across all offices and areas of the business.
- To produce fee income in line with targets and agreed objectives.
- To keep informed of all changes in the law and practice in clinical negligence.
- Maintain and enhance up-to-date legal skills.
- Maintaining accurate daily records of time spent on client and internal work.
- Perform fee-earning work accurately, reliably and in accordance with the company’s quality and risk procedures.
- Assisting with the preparation of and sending out bills.
- Maintaining diaries for court matters and deadlines.
- Assisting with client care paperwork and file closures on conclusion.

Candidate Profile
Essential Experience
- Law Degree or equivalent work-based experience.
- High level of competency in using Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
Desirable Experience
- Law Experience of working in a law firm and/or experience within clinical negligence.
- Competent in using case management systems and Infotrack.
- Clear understanding of the Solicitors’ Accounts Rules and Money Laundering Regulations.
