Looking for more than just a job? Ready to build a career where your effort directly drives your success?

At L&C Mortgages, we don’t just offer opportunities, we create careers. As the UK’s leading fee-free mortgage and protection broker (with 160+ awards to our name), we’re growing fast and investing in the next generation of Protection Advisers.

With a start date of the 1st September 2026, based at our bustling Newcastle office, this is your chance to step into a structured, supported, and genuinely rewarding career. But let’s be clear from the off: it takes focus, resilience, and hard work to succeed. If that excites you, you’ll fit right in.

Why This Role Stands Out

This isn’t just a “learn as you go and hope for the best” role.

From day one, you’ll receive full training, structured coaching, and ongoing support to take you from trainee to fully qualified Protection Adviser — with the opportunity to earn well and flourish within the industry.

You’ll be helping customers protect what matters most: their homes, families, and financial security, making your role both meaningful and impactful.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Speaking with customers to understand their needs and concerns, starting that all important discussion into the significance of Protection
  • Advising on protection products like Life Insurance, Critical Illness Cover, and Income Protection
  • Delivering clear, tailored recommendations
  • Managing your cases with keen organisation, accuracy and attention to detail
  • Balancing customer care, compliance, and performance targets

This is a fast-paced, target-driven environment where effort = reward.

What We’re Looking For

We’re not expecting finished experts, this is a trainee role after all! But we are looking for potential.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
