The Role
As a Trainee Recruitment Consultant, you will play a crucial role in identifying, engaging and matching high-quality candidates to client requirements. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their recruitment career who is motivated by people, relationships and results.
You’ll work closely with Sales and Delivery colleagues, managing the end-to-end candidate journey and building long-term relationships with consultants. Through structured training and hands-on experience, you’ll develop the skills needed to succeed in a fast-paced, high-performance recruitment environment.
Key Responsibilities
Candidate Sourcing & Recruitment
- Source, screen and present high-quality candidates to meet client requirements
- Conduct in-depth candidate interviews to assess skills, experience and cultural fit
- Manage the full consultant lifecycle from offer, onboarding and compliance through to assignment start
- Prepare candidates for interviews and support them through the offer process
- Gather and share feedback following interviews to influence hiring decisions

Candidate & Consultant Relationship Management
- Build strong, long-term relationships with candidates and consultants through regular touchpoints
- Understand consultants’ career goals, preferences and motivations to place them in meaningful roles
- Proactively plan redeployment for consultants ahead of assignment end dates
- Maintain engagement with candidates who are not placed immediately to support future opportunities
Collaboration & Teamwork
- Partner closely with Sales colleagues to understand role requirements and sourcing strategies
- Participate in requirement qualification and share market and candidate insights
- Work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure a smooth and professional candidate experience
- Share best practices and contribute positively to team performance
Performance & Delivery
- Manage daily and weekly activity to achieve agreed performance targets
- Use CRM systems and recruitment tools to document activity and drive efficiency
- Adapt approach when plans are not delivering the desired results
- Maintain high standards of accuracy, organisation and follow-through

What We’re Looking For
Experience
- Customer service, recruitment or sales-focused experience
- Experience working in a fast-paced, target-driven or team-based environment
- Strong interest in recruitment, people and relationship building
- Willingness to work towards consistent performance expectations

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Resilient, proactive and results-oriented mindset
- Ability to build rapport quickly with a wide range of people
- Organised, detail-focused and comfortable managing multiple priorities
