Trainee Sales Associate (Investment 20/20) – 12-month FTC
Location: Edinburgh (Hybrid: 3+ days in office per week) Salary: Up to £35,000 (based on experience) Closing Date: Thursday, 9 July 2026
About the Role Aegon Asset Management (AAM), a leading global active investor, seeks a Trainee Sales Associate to join their International Sales team. This 12-month fixed-term contract offers an opportunity to develop a career in asset management while supporting our diverse client base—including pensions, insurance, sectors, wealth managers, and foundations.
As part of a strategic team, you will:
- Build and maintain professional client relationships across EMEA and APAC markets.
- Collaborate with Sales professionals and Client Service Managers to deliver world-class service.
This role is ideal for a motivated individual eager to combine client relationship management, sales support, and market insight.
Key Responsibilities
- Client relationship management (business and corporate clients):
- Assist the International Sales team with contact lists, lead sourcing, and opportunity management in EMEA & APAC.
- Client servicing & enquiries support:
- Provide timely, professional responses to client needs.
- Maintain accurate records of sales/marketing activities in internal systems.
- Cross-team coordination:
- Act as an internal bridge between Sales, Product, Marketing, and Investment Specialists.
- Support sales initiatives and client-focused activities.
- Event & communications support:
- Assist in planning and delivering client events (logistics, invitations, follow-ups).
- Contribute to the creation of sales materials and client communications.
- Team collaboration:
- Engage actively in team meetings, sales activity, and knowledge sharing.
- Compliance & market awareness:
- Uphold regulatory requirements while adopting a client-first approach.
- Develop deep knowledge of AAM products and investment markets.

Requirements & Qualities
We are looking for candidates with:
- A strong interest in financial services and investment markets.
- Eagerness to build technical knowledge of investment funds.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
- An attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- A proactive, self-motivated attitude—ideal for those comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to build strong relationships internally and externally.
