Trainee Science Teacher | Barking and Dagenham

Are you a Science graduate ready to begin your journey into teaching? A high-achieving secondary school with a thriving Sixth Form in Barking & Dagenham is seeking an ambitious Trainee Science Teacher to join their permanent team from September 2026.

This Trainee Science Teacher opportunity is ideal for a graduate with a strong academic background who is passionate about inspiring the next generation of scientists. The school can offer either a salaried or unsalaried teacher training route, depending on your previous experience, making this an excellent opportunity for aspiring teachers at different stages of their career.

Trainee Science Teacher – Person Specification:

  • Minimum 2:1 degree in Biology, Chemistry, Physics or a related Science subject from a UK university
  • Strong GCSE and A-Level academic profile
  • Passion for Science education and a desire to become an outstanding teacher
  • Confident communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability and ambition to teach Science through to A-Level
  • Previous experience working with young people is beneficial but not essential
