Trainee Senior Data Architect

About the Role

The Information Department is seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, and dynamic individual to join their innovative, award-winning team as a Trainee Senior Data Architect.

Responsibilities

The Trainee Senior Data Architect (Band 6 Annex 21 70% of top of band) will be working towards gaining skills and experience to be competent in meeting the duties and responsibilities detailed in the job description. This will enable them to be eligible to progress into a qualified Band 6 Senior Data Architect position.

Training and Development

The successful candidate on this salaried scheme will undertake an 18-24 month, on-job training programme, including completion of a data-related apprenticeship, designed to give trainee data architects a sound knowledge and skill base from which to develop their career.

This is intended to be a training role, however, if a candidate has all of the skill sets detailed in the person specification, we can appoint into the full role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Designing and delivering information services/systems to a significant part of the Trust’s business.
  • Ensuring that high-quality information analysis is available to support the delivery of service improvements within their business area and any relevant Corporate requirements.
  • Supporting the Information Data Warehouse, ETL, and Reporting Frameworks ensuring they are operational and adequately monitored.
  • Supporting the reviewing and testing of proposed changes to reporting systems and data interchange functionality.
  • Supporting the linking to other corporate and clinical systems, investigating data structures, negotiating access, setting up and implementing connections, and incorporating data into the Trust’s reporting infrastructure.
  • Providing the identification and evaluation of possible options to achieve the best technical solution considering ease of future maintenance, robustness, and scalability.
  • Providing and applying expert skills to design, develop, deploy, and modify new and existing database and data integration solutions using tools and languages such as SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, T-SQL, Python, and XML.
  • Providing the development of data outputs for reporting, complex SQL views, and tables to act as data sources for reports and web-based applications, linking in with other staff from within the department.
