Trainee STEM Lecturer
Trainee STEM Lecturer Required in Chatham, Kent
This is a unique opportunity to join a collaborative and dynamic team delivering training at a unique training facility with MKC Training.
About the Role
We are seeking to appoint an Early Careers / Career Change Trainee Lecturer across STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) subjects. You will spend the first year in different departments, developing associated knowledge before focusing on the subject area of your choice.
The successful applicant will develop skills within a modern learning environment, making full use of the technologies and methods available. Working with small class sizes of motivated students, there is plenty of opportunity to develop into a Lecturer within various STEM fields delivered:
- Civil Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Electronics
- Computing
- Mathematics
- Engineering Science
- Project Management
- Contract Management
- Health and Safety
The initial focus will be to support the teaching and assessment of engineering principles and laboratories, including the corresponding mathematical techniques, up to foundation degree level. This will also include supporting the teaching and assessment of trade level engineering principles, electronics, and computing to specific trades within the school, such as electricians, refrigeration engineers, and fitters, as well as scope to support the degree programmes and professional courses.

Essential Requirements
- Technical or scientific experience along with a relevant level 5 qualification minimum.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Familiarity with laboratory equipment and techniques.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Commitment to maintaining a high standard of quality and accuracy to aid learner success.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and protocols in an applicable environment.
- Willing to complete a level 3/5 teaching qualification within 2 years of starting the role.
Desirable Requirements
- Knowledge of relevant safeguarding legislation & requirements.
- Experience in a relevant Engineering field.
- Teaching qualification and experience.
- Membership of an Engineering Professional body.
