Trainee SEN Teacher
Location: Cranleigh, Surrey (Commutable from Guildford and surrounding areas)
Salary: GBP26,458 FTE (GBP23,000 per annum pro:rata, based on term:time only)
Bonus: GBP1,000 Joining Bonus
Job Type: Full:Time, Permanent (Part:time options available)
Hours: 36.75 hours per week, Term:Time Only
Schedule: Mon, Wed, Thu: 8:45am:4:45pm Tue: 8:45am:5:30pm Fri: 8:45am:4:30pm
About The Role
Are you a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, or Nursery Worker looking to build a rewarding, long:term career in Special Educational Needs (SEN)?
We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated Trainee SEN Teachers to join our dedicated multi:disciplinary education team. In this specialist role, you will work 1:to:1 with autistic children and young people within small, supportive classroom settings. Using behaviourally based teaching methods, you will help design, plan, and deliver tailored sessions aimed at accelerating pupils learning, communication skills, and social:emotional development.
No prior teaching qualification is required. You will receive fully funded, industry:leading training and mentorship from internationally recognised behaviour analytic experts, making this the perfect launchpad for a specialist education career.
Key Responsibilities
- 1:1 Support: Work 1:to:1 with pupils within small classes to support their individual learning, progression, and independence.
- Curriculum Delivery: Deliver individualised learning plans and activities focused heavily on essential communication and life skills.
- Positive Interventions: Implement evidence:based strategies and interventions that encourage positive behavioural outcomes.
- Daily Support: Assist pupils during breaktimes, lunch, playground activities, and school trips, translating classroom theory into real:world practice.
- Personal Care: Confidently support pupils with personal and intimate care routines where required.
- Professional Development: Actively participate in continuous training, research, and regular supervision sessions.

What We Are Looking For (Requirements)
- Experience: Professional, personal, or voluntary experience working with children, young people, or individuals with disabilities.
- Education: Minimum Grade C/4 GCSE (or equivalent) in English Language and Mathematics.
- Resilience: Confidence supporting pupils with a high level of need, including dysregulated behaviours, while remaining calm under pressure.
- Attitude: A positive, can:do approach with a genuine passion for making a meaningful difference in the lives of autistic young people.
- Commitment: A strong desire to engage with our fully funded professional development pathways.
