Are you a recent Psychology graduate with a passion for supporting children with autism? Would you like to train to be an SEN Teacher?
This School is a day school rated "Outstanding" by Ofsted, is seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join the teaching support team as Trainee Teachers. About The Role
- You will be working alongside experienced teachers within small classes, individually and in groups, to learn and develop your teaching skills.
- You will observe, assist, and eventually lead engaging learning activities that encourage pupils learning and progression, focusing on improving their social and emotional development.
- You will be instrumental in creating a positive and nurturing learning environment where children can thrive.
What will I be doing?
- Observe and assist experienced teachers in delivering lessons and activities.
- Gain practical experience in planning and delivering lessons, focusing on communication skills and life skills.
- Support pupils’ participation in trips, applying theory-based learning to practice.
- Provide behaviourally based support to replace and reduce behaviours that impact quality of life.
- Support with personal care, encouraging pupils to maintain acceptable levels of hygiene (toileting, feeding).
- Monitor pupil progress, observing how different teaching approaches impact learning.
- Assist with breaktime duties including playground support and snack time.

What do you need?
- Recent degree in Psychology or a related field.
- A passion for working with children with autism and a desire to make a difference in their lives.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A willingness to learn and grow as a teacher.
- Ability to keep calm in high pressure situations.
