Trainee Technical Area Sales Manager – Start Your Career in Technical Sales

We’re looking for a Trainee Technical Area Sales Manager to join our Professional Team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting the sale of professional growing media, bark, and fertilisers
  • Building relationships with commercial growers and distributor networks
  • Learning how to identify new business opportunities and grow existing accounts
  • Assisting in providing technical advice and solutions to customers
  • Working alongside experienced sales and technical teams
  • Attending customer visits, trade shows, and industry events
  • Supporting reporting, sales analysis, and regional performance tracking
  • Gathering market insights and sharing with the wider team

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A strong interest in horticulture, agriculture, or a related sector
  • Some customer-facing or commercial experience (sales, retail, or similar)
  • A degree/diploma in Horticulture, Agriculture, Soil/Plant Science (preferred but not essential)
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • A proactive, driven attitude with a willingness to learn
  • Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel
