Job Opportunity: Trainee Technical Service Manager (Apprentice TSM) – RAF Menwith Hill

Location & Details
- Site: RAF Menwith Hill
- Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time
- Salary: £27,000–£30,000 (competitive salary)
- Eligibility: British Nationals (due to DV Clearance requirement)

About the Position

As a Trainee Technical Service Manager, you’ll:
- Manage complex military accommodation estates
- Deliver safe, efficient, and compliant facilities services
- Work in planning and execution of essential repairs, maintenance, and projects
Key Responsibilities
Facilities Management & Operations
- Gain expertise in managing facilities operations, including:
- Reactive repairs and planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
- Implementation of JSP 375 (compliance standards)
- Adherence to SFG20 (maintenance standards)
- Learn to use CAFM systems like MAXIMO for:
- Managing work orders
- Tracking assets
- Supporting forward planning

Project Management & Compliance
- Contribute to small-scale projects, gaining experience in:
- Project management methodologies
- Legal compliance and CDM regulations
- Develop understanding of industry frameworks and health & safety protocols
Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with DIO, Base Operations, and supply chain partners
- Build professional relationships to resolve challenges efficiently
Safety & Culture
- Promote a positive safety culture on and off-site
- Work with contractors to maintain high operational standards
What We’re Looking For
Successful candidates will demonstrate:
- Strong work ethic and proactive mindset
- Enthusiasm for facilities management and long-term career growth
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Teamwork ability and attention to detail
- Willingness to learn in a dynamic environment
Education & Qualifications
- GCSEs in Maths & English (essential)
- Further relevant qualifications or experience is a plus
