We are currently recruiting on behalf of NORM Solutions, a wholly owned ASCO company specialising in the decontamination of Naturally Occurring Radioactive Material (NORM). This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing business supporting the oil and gas decommissioning sector. Working as part of a close-knit team and reporting to the Operations Team Leader, you'll be responsible for safely cleaning NORM-contaminated equipment while supporting the continued development of innovative technologies and services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely clean NORM-contaminated equipment in accordance with relevant legislation, company procedures and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Carry out Ultra High-Pressure (UHP) Water Jetting activities, including operating the automated tubular cleaning process.
  • Operate counterbalance forklift trucks to load, unload and transfer equipment.
  • Undertake manual handling activities.
  • Strip down and reduce oil and gas equipment, including valves and associated components, to facilitate the cleaning process.
  • Maintain accurate records of operational activities, both electronically and manually.
  • Ensure equipment is maintained in accordance with operating procedures.
  • Maintain high housekeeping standards within the work area.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance customer service, operational efficiency and cost effectiveness.
  • Actively participate in and promote the company's proactive HSSEQ culture.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Counterbalance Forklift Certificate.

Desirable Qualifications / Competencies

  • Multi-Directional Forklift Certificate.
  • Ultra High-Pressure (UHP) Water Jetting Certification.
  • Abrasive Wheels / HAV Certification.
  • Hot Cutting Certificate.
  • Minimum Industry Safety Training (MIST).
  • Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training (BOSIET).
  • Benzene Awareness.
  • Mercury Awareness.
  • Radiation Protection Supervisor (RPS) Training.

Additional Information

This role would suit a safety-conscious individual with previous experience in UHP Water Jetting and a good level of mechanical aptitude who is looking to develop their career within a growing business. Health and Safety is at the forefront of everything we do at ASCO. Due to the nature of the work and the requirement to wear protective respiratory equipment during jetting operations, successful candidates must be clean shaven when carrying out these duties.
