Trainer
Trainer/Tester
Location: Unit 1 High Barns Farm, Bedford Road, Roxton, Bedfordshire, MK44 3ET
Salary: £38–£42k per annum plus benefits
Position Duration: Permanent, full-time | Hours: 7am–5.30pm, Monday–Friday (50 hrs/week)
About the Role
The Trainer/Tester delivers industry-leading training and assessments to ensure participants acquire practical skills and technical knowledge for safe and competent equipment operation. Core responsibilities include training development, adapting delivery styles, conducting assessments, and supporting RSP-UK’s training centre—encompassing operational support, exhibitions, and brand promotion.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
📚 Training Delivery
- Deliver engaging, hands-on training sessions using approved materials and methods.
- Ensure candidates grasp content, feel confident, and operate equipment safely.
- Adapt training content and style to diverse learning needs/preferences.
- Provide clear joining instructions and arrange refreshments/lunch for training days.
- Maintain/compliment safety, compliance, and audit-readiness standards.

✅ Assessment
- Conduct on-site and remote assessments to verify candidate competence.
- Accurately record outcomes and ensure evidence filing compliance.
- Offer constructive feedback and report to the Training Manager/Coordinator.
🔄 Support & Continuous Improvement
- Assist with development of new training content/formats:
- Curriculum, e-learning, and interactive training methods.
- Maintain training equipment and training area readiness.
- Support exhibition demonstrations and customer events.
- Collaborate with Marketing to produce training-related social media content.
- Provide operational backup for wider departments as needed (including Training Management).
Job Requirements
🎓 Qualifications
- Preferred: IQA (Assessor Qualification).
- Notable: Suitable training can be provided for candidates interesting in operating a suction excavator.

🔑 Mandatory Knowledge
- Data Protection Act 2018 & GDPR Compliance (essential).
- Desireable: HGV Class 2 License.
- Background in utilities/plant operation welcomed.

- Capable of handling customer requests quickly while following internal processes.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently or under direction.
- Tech-savvy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong organisation and communication skills with fluent English.
- Adapts terminology for all proficiency levels (from beginners to experts).
- Team player with a positive, professional demeanour.
- Flexible to transition between tasks (e.g., corporate events, remote/video delivery).
