Training Analyst

Saab UK – Training Analyst – Tactical Engagement System Support (Contract)

The role is within our Training and Simulation division.

The Role

This is a contract position focused on Tactical Engagement System (TES) analytics to enhance post-exercise training reviews (After Action Reviews, AARs).

You will:

  • Plan and deliver TES-supported exercises at training levels ALPHA to CHARLIE.
  • Analyse data and create AAR products for customer feedback.
  • Brief troops on Saab equipment capabilities and coordinate deployment to optimise training outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities:

As directed by Operations Managers, you will:

  • Plan and execute TES exercise support (UK or overseas) from levels ALPHA to CHARLIE.
  • Lead small teams (an LTA [Logistics & Training Adviser] and a Field Tech) in deployed roles.
  • Deploy as an Analyst (up to Training Level FOXTROT) under a Lead or Senior Analyst.
  • Deliver TES capability briefings to troops.
  • Conduct "TES Fitness" using WinEXCON (Analyst software).
  • Operate WinEXCON for real-time analysis during exercises.
  • Assist LTAs with Issue/Receipt phases (including "TES Fitness").
  • Support delivering AARs and compile unit Take Home Packs.
  • Complete PTRs (Post Training Reports) and PXRs (Post-Exercise Reports).

Auxiliary Roles:

  • Assist with PBS communication system erection/maintenance.
  • Support logistical resupply when required.
  • Help prepare ORBATs (Order of Battle) with analyst teams.
  • Collaborate on Take Home Packs and data exploitation.
  • Engage in experimentation exercises, demos, or continuation training.
  • Ensure team compliance with Site & Field Team Working Instructions.

Additional Duties:

  • Lead as a Lead Analyst or Senior Analyst when assigned.
  • Attend UK/overseas training (e.g., CONDO, driver training).
  • Support Saab marketing activities (example: VIP briefs).
  • Contribute to other Saab projects/departments.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential Criteria:

  • Completion of a Combat Arm Command & Tactics course OR a Combat Support Command & Tactics course.
  • Military operational experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in DCC (Doctrine Command Concepts) or MCC (Managing Conflict Concepts) and Combined Arms tactics.
  • Valid UK driving licence (B&E desirable).
  • Valid UK passport (must be in date).
  • Capable of passing a CONDO (Conduct Check) medical.
