Training & Compliance Manager
Potters Bar | Up to £60,000 + Benefits
Hill McGlynn Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a well-established multidisciplinary construction company for an experienced Training & Compliance Manager. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing business where you'll play a key role in developing training strategies, maintaining compliance standards, and supporting continuous improvement across the organisation.
This is a varied position suited to someone with a strong understanding of construction compliance, training coordination, and management systems who is looking to make a genuine impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the company's annual training strategy, identifying training needs across all departments.
- Coordinate internal and external training programmes, including CPD and refresher courses.
- Maintain accurate employee training records, certifications, and competency databases.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant UK legislation, including Health & Safety, Employment Law, Environmental regulations, and construction industry standards.
- Review, update, and maintain company policies, procedures, and management systems in line with legislative and industry changes.
- Prepare for and coordinate external audits and accreditation assessments.
- Manage industry accreditations, including CHAS, Constructionline, ISO certifications, and client-specific pre-qualification schemes.
- Gather audit evidence, manage corrective actions, and drive continual improvement across Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental systems.
- Liaise with external auditors, accreditation bodies, training providers, and regulatory organisations.
- Monitor legislative updates and communicate changes across the business.
- Travel to company sites and client locations to deliver training, undertake audits, and support operational teams where required.

About You
We're looking for a proactive and organised professional who has:
- Previous experience in a Training, Compliance, HSQE, or similar management role within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of UK construction legislation, compliance requirements, and management systems.
- Experience managing industry accreditations such as CHAS, Constructionline, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001.
- Excellent organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- The ability to interpret legislation and implement practical business processes.
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
- A commitment to promoting a positive culture of compliance, safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites when required.
