Equip Outdoor Technologies UK Ltd – Training and Events Lead
About the Role Based in Alfreton, Derbyshire, Equip Outdoor Technologies specialises in the design, development, and marketing of technical outdoor clothing and equipment. Owners of Rab and Lowe Alpine, we are seeking an experienced, ambitious Training and Events Lead to champion one of the UK’s most renowned outdoor brands.
This role will involve Regional training delivery, event management, and product promotion to drive retail performance. As part of the Rab ambassador team, you’ll deliver top-tier training to key accounts, manage retail events, and support tradeshows/consumer events.

Key Responsibilities
You will:
- Take full ownership of designing and delivering engaging, impactful training sessions to key retailers, including:
- One-on-one and group sessions on Rab/Lowe Alpine product ranges
- Training on fit standards, material performance, and product use
- Drive improved product knowledge and sell-through nationally
- Support the Rab Lab Academy—track adoption across accounts and encourage use of D2C/retail training tools
- Assist in retail campaign installation, including:
- Coordination with graphics teams for raffles, window displays, and in-store demos
- Gather and share retail insights—stock coverage, performance issues, competitor trends, and cross-selling opportunities
- Lead retail training events and [trade shows] (e.g. Outdoor Trade Show, Slide Winter, Outdoor & Social)
- Source speakers, settle logistics, ensure seamless on-site execution
- Partner closely with UK GTM teams on external-facing events
- Attend and demonstrate Rab products at consumer festivals (e.g. Kendal Mountain Festival)
- Participation in weekend working and extended shifts as required
- Ensure exceptional customer experience—retailers and brand ambassadors alike

Of Key Interest
- Travel-heavy role (travel to retailers, training centres, and consumer/industry events across the UK)
- Experience working in ABWEPS (including weekends and evenings in response to events)
- Physical engagement with equipment (demoing products from outdoor products, mechanics, through to retail tools)
Requirements
Essential
- Proven experience in event management, including planning, logistics, and on-site execution (minimum 3 years’
- Community-based events? Branded activations? Trustee board involvement? Optimally, a leadership stake acknowledged
- Strong familiarity with the outdoor industry or retail markets, preferably in technical apparel or experience-based products (e.g. cat/tuft accoutrements, daytime preparation, overnight stalling and sleeping systems)
- Specific brand knowledge in women’s technical outdoor is continuously desirable
- Flexibility for full engagement during office hours while managing robust post-hours requirements
- Willingness/ability to work after business hours & weekends as necessary
- Full, current UK driving licence (clearly mandatory given the nature of travel)
Ace (advantageous or cunningly desirable)
- A BKS KBEST in retail, droppingsetting or associated outdoor trades (e.g. mountain safety)
- Experience in tube/gesture training or providing clinical advice (ideally outside a technical speciality like windsurf training/muenza characteristics)
- Certification in first aid or risk assessment (to complement capability)
- Theater or professional teaching/coaching background
