Job Title: Training and Professional Development Practitioner
Location: Scotstoun, Hybrid – 2-3 days on site depending on business needs

Salary: Up to £46,000 depending on experience

Job Description
As a Training & Professional Development Practitioner, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and delivering innovative learning solutions that support the development of critical skills across Naval Ships. Working with stakeholders across the business, you will help identify learning needs, create engaging training content, and support knowledge-sharing strategies that develop capability, enhance performance, and support future business requirements.
Core Duties
- Design and develop innovative learning solutions focused on the skills, knowledge, and experience required across Naval Ships
- Facilitate and deliver engaging learning interventions in both classroom and virtual environments
- Research, develop, and deliver case studies based on real business events to support learning and professional development
- Collaborate with functional teams to identify training needs and develop effective learning and development solutions
- Support knowledge management strategies, including the development of learning resources and approaches that capture and share critical knowledge across the business

Essential Skills
- Experience designing, developing, and delivering learning solutions within a complex technical, engineering, manufacturing, scientific, or STEM-based environment
- A technical background gained within disciplines such as Engineering, Design, Manufacturing, Science, Technology, or a related field, with the ability to translate complex concepts into engaging learning experiences
- A recognised Learning & Development, Teaching, Training, or Education qualification (e.g. PGCE, PGDE, CIPD, or equivalent) or demonstrable experience delivering professional learning programmes
- Experience working collaboratively with stakeholders to identify capability gaps, develop learning solutions, and support organisational development goals
- Ability to communicate and present technical information in an engaging, accessible way across classroom, virtual, and blended learning environments
The Academy Learning & Development Team
The team is part of the Applied Shipbuilding Academy, supporting the development of skills and capability across Naval Ships. The team designs and delivers innovative learning solutions, helping colleagues build the knowledge, skills, and experience required now and in the future.
