This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in building workforce capability, driving compliance, supporting career development, and ensuring our people have the skills and knowledge required to deliver projects safely and effectively.
Working closely with operational leaders, HR teams, project managers, and external training providers, you will develop and implement learning strategies that support business growth, succession planning, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement learning and development strategies aligned to business objectives. Identify workforce skills gaps and create effective training and development plans. Design, coordinate, and manage technical, compliance, leadership, and behavioural training programmes. Ensure all mandatory training and competency requirements are achieved and maintained. Lead apprenticeship, graduate, and trainee development programmes. Maintain training records, competency matrices, and compliance documentation. Work closely with operational teams to understand current and future workforce development needs. Build strong partnerships with training providers, colleges, and industry bodies. Monitor training effectiveness and continuously improve learning solutions. Promote a culture of continuous learning, development, and professional growth.

About You
You will have experience in a Learning & Development, Training, or Workforce Development role within construction, engineering, infrastructure, utilities, or a related sector.
You Will Also Possess
Strong understanding of construction industry training and competency requirements. Experience designing and implementing successful training programmes. Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills. Strong organisational and project management capabilities. Experience supporting workforce planning, talent development, and succession planning. Knowledge of apprenticeship programmes and early careers development is highly desirable. Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and CITB funding frameworks would be advantageous.
Qualifications
Qualification in Learning & Development, Human Resources, Education, or a related discipline. CIPD Level 5 or equivalent qualification desirable. Training, coaching, or mentoring qualifications advantageous. Construction or infrastructure sector knowledge preferred.
