Position Overview
🕒 Full-time, 37.5 hours per week 📍 HMS Collingwood, Fareham, United Kingdom 🔐 Security Clearance Required: Mandatory UK SC level clearance
Join Capita’s Selborne 2.0 transformation in Royal Navy training! This role offers ex-service Communication Information Systems (CIS) personnel or experienced defence trainers the chance to maintain operational relevance by designing and delivering high-quality communications training—without deployments.
Key responsibilities include providing practical and classroom instruction on MMR PRC-163/167 radios and BOWMAN system training for Navy trainees undergoing Phase 2 and 3 Weapons Engineering courses. You’ll also assess learners, contribute to training improvements, and uphold strict RN standards.
What You’ll Do
Core Responsibilities
- Deliver classroom and hands-on training on:
- MMR PRC-163/167 radio systems.
- BOWMAN operator and system procedures.
- Design and maintain lesson plans, training aids, and practical scenarios.
- Evaluate and coach learners, ensuring operational competence, safety, and doctrine alignment.
- Lead course reviews and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Represent Capita professionally in a military training environment.

Requirements
Essential Criteria
✓ Practical military communications expertise, particularly with:
- MMR PRC-163/167 systems.
- Hands-on knowledge of BOWMAN as an operator/instructor.
Desirable Traits
🔹 Prior experience in instructing, mentoring, or training adults. 🔹 Ex-Royal Navy, Army, or Joint CIS background. 🔹 Contractor or defence training provider experience. 🔹 Strong communication and presentation skills in a military arena.
