The Opportunity

Abbott Rapid Diagnostics is recruiting a Training & Engagement Manager in the North UK to develop innovative training initiatives and programmes that align with evolving market dynamics and support continued growth in Abbott’s Cardiometabolic (CM) business.

This is a brand-new, field-based, customer-facing role responsible for:

  • Ensuring the effective use of Abbott’s Cardiometabolic product portfolio
  • Delivering added value to customers
  • Driving loyalty and increased product utilization

Ideal candidate locations: Northwest, M62 corridor, Sheffield, Nottingham regions, or Birmingham


What You’ll Do

In this role, you will:

  • Lead the design and delivery of tailored training programmes aligned to customer needs, combining both virtual and face-to-face engagements across:

    • Hospitals
    • Community settings
    • Pharmacies
    • Private healthcare providers
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, training, technical services, global product management, and commercial teams

  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Affinion and Cholestech LDX platforms

Key Responsibilities

  • Build a strong technical understanding of the product portfolio covering:
    • Governance & quality processes
    • Troubleshooting
    • Complaint monitoring
  • Support technical components of tender submissions
  • Work closely with customers to drive engagement and retention, proactively identifying:
    • Upsell opportunities
    • Ways to increase product utilisation
  • Develop innovative training initiatives to adapt to market evolution and business growth needs
  • Manage administrative tasks efficiently:
    • Customer record-keeping & activity (Sales Force)
    • Rolling forecasts
    • Monthly highlights
    • Expenses & training records (compliance with divisional standards)
    • Sample & demo device management
    • Promotional expense tracking
  • Maintain strong relationships with key accounts to ensure their needs are consistently met
  • Represent Abbott professionally, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards

Requirements and Background

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • Relevant product knowledge, including the ability to communicate clinical and technical data
  • Proficient computer skills for:
    • Abbott’s field reporting data system
    • Correspondence management
    • Spreadsheet use
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Demonstrated teamwork, collaboration, and customer focus
  • A confident, can-do attitude
  • Flexibility & adaptability in a fast-moving environment
  • Strong planning and organisational skills
  • Self-motivation and discipline
  • Resilience and tenacity
