Strategic Regions For Change
Currently, training for IMS1 doctors is overseen by TPDs who cover distinct sectors within the Deanery. After reflection, it is felt that a redesign of the system would be helpful both for educator development and ongoing resident doctor support:
- Creation of a Lead TPD to lead the service and assist with educator development especially of those new to TPD or ES roles.
- Development of robust governance procedures around ARCPs
- Creating TPD leads who will focus on support after periods out of training and improving the working lives of doctors (including robust and equitable processes around the management of less than full time working).
- Creating a team structure that allows peaks and roughs of activity to be managed
- Presence at teaching days to further help resolve queries in a timely way
- Provide a structure that allows a point of contact in the event of an urgent matter arising

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

In March 2025, the Government announced that NHS England and the Department of Health and Social Care will increasingly merge functions, ultimately leading to NHS England being fully integrated into the department.
If you currently work within the NHS and if successful at interview, we will initiate an Inter Authority Transfer (IAT) via the Electronic Staff Record (ESR). This retrieves key data from your current or previous NHS employer to support onboarding, including competency status, Continuous Service Dates (CSD), and annual leave entitlement. You may opt out at any stage of the process.
Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in our offices.
We cannot offer visa sponsorship for any vacancies.
