Training Readiness Analyst (Submarine Training)

Support training readiness and the transition of Royal Navy submarine training to improve frontline readiness.

Secondment Details

  • Tenure: Until March 2027
  • Working hours: Full-time (37.5 hrs/week, Mon–Fri)
  • Potential transition: Could become a permanent role
  • Work location: Hybrid (Home and Faslane), Helensburgh, United Kingdom

Security & Compliance

  • Must be eligible for UK SC (Security Clearance) level clearance

About the Role

Help accelerate the development of trained personnel for the front line by enhancing the transition of Royal Navy submarine training. You’ll play a critical role by reviewing and supporting the evolution of training as new capabilities emerge.

This position involves:

  • Collaborating across internal and external stakeholders to assess current training processes
  • Identifying where adjustments may be necessary to smooth the integration of new training solutions
  • Minimising disruption to operational delivery while ensuring new solutions are fully implemented

Responsibilities

Responsible for:

  • Reviewing and integrating training materials, learning tools, and media to ensure alignment with requirements and readiness for deployment.
  • Supporting document reviews, stakeholder meetings, and capturing feedback, actions, and decisions.
  • Assisting with acceptance and readiness activities, ensuring new training content and tools meet standards before deployment.
  • Monitoring progress and raising risks, issues, or dependencies through appropriate channels.
  • Evaluating the impact of new training solutions on existing operational resources, capacity, and activities.
  • Helping analyse current training practices to inform future defensive training approaches.
  • Liaising with training partners (internal and external) to ensure coherent and practical training solutions.
  • Co-ordinating during transitional phases to minimise disruption and support a smooth transition to live delivery.

Requirements

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Strong knowledge of training design and delivery methodologies in defence (preferably within the Royal Navy).
  • Ability to interpret technical requirements and translate them into applicable training solutions.
  • Comprehensive stakeholder engagement and communication skills, and experience working with diverse, multi-best-partner groups.
  • Expertise in critical thinking, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
  • Capable of working independently, managing your own time without supervision.
  • Willingness to travel when necessary.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience (knowledge) of submarine training
