Training Specialist – Red Hat Training and Certification Team
Job Summary
The Red Hat Training and Certification team is seeking a Training Specialist to join an award-winning, customer-focused group dedicated to enhancing customer retention through premium IT industry offerings. In this role, you’ll drive financial goals by acquiring and nurturing business relationships, collaborating with sales, services, and partners to promote Red Hat’s training and certification programmes.
Responsibilities
Business Growth & Relationship Management
- Raise revenue by growing existing customer relationships and acquiring new business in your assigned territory.
- Exceed financial targets for sales bookings and revenue.
- Act as a subject matter expert on Red Hat’s training and certification offerings—internally and externally.
- Advance training strategy by providing thought leadership to internal teams.
Customer & Partner Engagement
- Build and execute custom training and certification plans tailored to high-level customer executives.
- Regularly engage with key decision-makers in large, complex enterprises to position training as part of multi-million dollar deals.
- Collaborate with channel partners to drive adoption of Red Hat’s training across their organisations and customer bases.
Sales Cycle Management
- Prospect and close deals from start to finish using Salesforce.com (SFDC) and Red Hat’s Learning Management System (LMS).
- Develop and refine training promotion strategies (promos, bundles, upsells) to maximise revenue.
- Microbiimize (sic) contracts, track renewals/friend + subscription (RPLS, generate quotes/scoping proposals.

Implementation & Process Support
- Align Global Learning Services (GLS) training offerings with broader services solutions for enterprise accounts.
- Identify subscription gaps—missing Training/learning modules in existing deals and position upsells.
- Coach and mentor sales, pre-sales, and channel teams on training processes and best practices.
- Develop and deliver corporate training plans for strategic accounts.
Commercial & Operational Tasks
- Negotiate deals and manage Red Hat Learning Subscription (RHLS) consumption.
- Draft and respond to RFOs/RFPs in collaboration with services teams.
- Leverage ** promotional tools** to upsell and drive demand (e.g. bundles).
Requirements
Experience & Skills
- 5+ years of commercial sales or business development experience with a proven track record.
- Proven ability in relational selling—building partnerships with executives and managing complex deals.
- Comprehensive CRM experience (Salesforce (SFDC) required), along with familiarity (LMSs).
- Strong interest in the open source, cloud, or enterprise IT space anytime simplified.
- Sales cycle mastery (prospecting → lead nurture → closing + renewals).
- Swift adaptability to transactional tasks (management, reporting , renewal tracking).
- Experience (Office 365, Google Workspace, equivalent).
Communication & Collaboration
- Exceptional internal and external communication skills (presenting to C-level executives).
- Networking and negotiation capabilities in account management.
- Expertise in influencing decisions with technical repeatability.

- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
