Training Solution Architect – Hampshire – Hybrid – Permanent 37.5 hours per week – £55,000 - £65,000 per annum – SC Clearance or willing to undergo

Our client is looking for an experienced Training Solution Architect with a strong grasp of the Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT) to join their Engineering function in Hampshire.
You'll act as the technical lead for training-related change requests, owning the process from initial triage right through to solution approval. If you have a background in training design within complex defence programmes, this one's worth a look.
You will have one direct report under you so leadership experience is also key for this role.
Working Patterns and location – Hybrid – 3 days on site per week
The Key Responsibilities of a Training Solution Architect:
- Act as the engineering point of contact for all training-related change requests.
- Triage and scope incoming requests to determine whether training design activity is needed.
- Produce technical training solution proposals including design approach, resource estimates, and project plans.
- Work with programme teams to develop clarification questions and shape solution direction.
- Coordinate inputs from SMEs, training designers, media specialists, and other engineering disciplines.
- Provide technical oversight during delivery to ensure outputs align with the approved solution and DSAT principles.
- Maintain governance records covering assumptions, decisions, and constraints throughout the change process.
- Engage with stakeholders and governance forums to provide engineering updates and recommendations.

Below is a list of Key Skills required for a Training Solution Architect, however you will not be expected to have everything:
- Proven experience applying the Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT) in a complex programme environment.
- Solid background in Training Design — specifically DSAT Element 2.
- Experience producing scoping reports and defining training solutions within change programmes.
- Ability to work with stakeholders to clarify requirements and shape coherent training solutions.
- Experience integrating inputs from multiple stakeholders into a single, well-structured proposal.
- Confident presenting technical recommendations to senior stakeholders and governance forums.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to produce clear technical documentation.
The client would also like to see some of the below, but this is not essential:
- Knowledge of DSAT Elements 1 (Analysis) and/or 3 (Delivery), with awareness of Element 4 (Assurance).
- Experience overseeing or supporting subcontracted training analysis or development activity.
- Exposure to digital learning or media development environments.
- Background in Instructional Systems Design, Human Performance Technology, Adult Education, or Human Factors.
- Strategic or systems-level thinking
