Training & Support Officer - EdIS/C2k
Responsible To: Locality Manager
Responsible For: Delivery of training and support services for administrative, teaching, and management staff in schools relating to the use of the EdIS/C2k System.
Job Purpose
Provide training and support – under the direction of a Locality Manager – to support administrative, teaching, and management staff in making effective use of the EdIS/C2k System.
Scope & Context
- Contribute to the development of an implementation strategy for the EdIS/C2k system, focusing on training and school-based/Service Desk support.
- Provide training and support for Core and Resources modules of EdIS/C2k as directed.
- Operate within a province-wide framework.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist in designing, developing, and delivering in-service training strategies to enhance EdIS/C2k usage, specifically targeting Office Administration elements of school management systems.
- Plan and deliver effective training to staff in schools, including whole-school in-service sessions where necessary.
- Support ongoing development and enhancements to EdIS/C2k’s Office Administration features.
- Guide staff on customising school systems and their documentation within EdIS/C2k guidelines.
- Provide information on security and control procedures related to EdIS/C2k systems.
- Offer Service Desk and on-site support to school staff as required.
- Assist with team administration duties as requested by the Locality Manager.
- Deliver in-service training to colleagues within EdIS/C2k and related school support services.
- Provide regular progress reports and updates to Senior Management.
- Gather and communicate feedback on EdIS/C2k system satisfaction to the Locality Manager.
- Contribute to research and development efforts, including pilot testing and quality assurance for software.
- Attend cross-project meetings to support system improvements.
- Perform any additional duties assigned by the Locality Manager.

Person Specification
NOTES TO JOB APPLICANTS
Applicants must clearly demonstrate how they meet selection criteria on the application form. Failure to do so may result in disqualification for both essential and desirable criteria. Responses must be provided by the closing date.
- Shortlisting is based on essential criteria (Section 1) using application form details. Selection Panel has discretion to limit shortlisting pool based on desirable criteria (Section 3) if necessary.
Section 1 - Essential Criteria
(Shortlisting and interview evaluation)
Experience
- Option A: Hold a third-level qualification (HNC or above) plus three years’ administrative experience, including hands-on use of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Option B: Five years’ administrative experience (including Word and Excel).
- Proof of experience with school office administrative processes.
Knowledge
- In-depth understanding of C2k services and their application in schools’ Core and Resources modules.
Skills
- Advanced ICT skillset enabling technical proficiency across multiple software applications.
Additional Requirements
- Hold, or commit to establish, appropriate transport:
- A suitable, maintained, and insurable vehicle (for Education Authority purposes) or
- Demonstrate equal access to alternative transport that meets post mobility needs via application form.
